Among the Turkish communities living in the Balkans, Turks of Bulgaria were the ones who have been exposed to forced migration and assimilation the most. In spite o f everything, Bulgarian Turks, who lived in great pain during these processes, did not lose their sense o f humour and were able to look at the cases o f forced assimilation and immigration from a humorous angle producing extremely interesting and valuable works. In this paper, fine sense o f humour in the majör works o f the Turks who were born and raised in Bulgaria and who lived the forced migration and the assimilation ar e examined both artistic and political point o f view.
