The First Balkan War that was waged by the Christian states o f the
Balkans against the Ottoman Empire had a great resonance among the public
in the Kingdom o f Serbia. The daily press paid special attention to the
preparations and the very course o f the war operations. The most progressive
reports were published in the Belgrade daily newspaper "Politika", which,
even before the very onset o f the military operations, published daily news
concerning the situation within the enemy 's troops and the very course o f the
military operations. This paper has been written based on an analysis o f the
articles printed by "Politika’1 from mid-1912 until the signing o f the truce
agreement on the 7tb o f November (the 2(fh o f November according to the
Julian calendar)
