His family sends Sir Tahir to Istanbul toreceive religious education. Sir Tahir, who was successful in his madrasah education, decides to stay in Istanbul after his education. Along with his loyaltyto the historical past throughout his life, Âkif did not remain indifferent to the events of the period in which he lived, and the situation inthe Balkans is reflected in his works, as well as other features. In hisworks, among others, his father's hometown Rumelia (Balkans) situation, the Balkan wars, how Rumelia fell out of our hands in one dayare handled with a bitter and rebellious chant. In the researches madeso far, Âkif and his works have been examined in different aspects, but as a result of the scans we have made, it has been determined thatthe subject of "Balkans in the Works of Mehmet Âkif Ersoy" has notbeen examined. In our paper, in which this subject will be discussedfor the first time in the world of science, Mehmet Âkif's view of theBalkans will be discussed in detail, based on his works and memories, and the feelings, thoughts, determination and approach of the great poet to the state of Rumelia of that day will be examined. Based on thesedata, it will also be analyzed how the Balkan imagination is reflectedin Âkif's poems. In our paper, the subject will be examined fromdifferent aspects by keeping a close eye on the subject to be discussedwith the methodology of literary history, literary analysis and text analysis.

Acculturation Preferences of the Turks of Kosovo and North Macedonia within the Context of Marriage: A Soft Assimilation Domain

Turks of Kosovo and North Macedonia have become members of anation that has turned into a minority in terms of population and influenceboth after the balkanization of the Ottoman State and after the balkanization of Yugoslavia. The aim of the study is to investigate the maritalrelations that the Turks of Kosovo and North Macedonia establish withthe other national-religious components of the countries where they live.Within the scope of the study, a number of questions were asked to theparticipants regarding their acculturation preferences in terms of marriagedomain by means of semi-structured interview technique. Participants'responses were discussed with a phenomenological approach and qualitative analysis. Data were collected through snowball sampling since itprovides in depth sets of data by references. According to the findingscollected from the sample, Turks of Kosovo and North Macedonia regardmarriage as a valuable and emotional acculturation domain. Within thesample, it was observed that they attach a great importance to endogamyand prefer the orientation of separation from the dominant group as far aspossible. Exogamy with non-Muslim groups is rarely preferred whileexogamy with Muslim Albanians is a more common fact in the region.Even though exogamy is not commonly frequent within the sample, it isthought that it may cause assimilation in the long run due to the lesspopulation of the Turks. However, when the soft assimilation phenolmenon is handled with a realistic and objective point of view, mutualassimilation of both groups clearly shows itself. Within the marriagedomain, there are examples where not only the Turks were assimilated byMuslim Albanians but also Muslim Albanians assimilated by Turks. However, the factors leading to assimilation cannot be explained solely inthe context of the marriage domain. In this regard, factors such asconcerns about (un)employment, the language in which the education isgiven, and the role of the dominant parents are also very importantfactors.
